Jeremy et al.,
We're firing up DODS software here (Java to PostgreSQL), and have clubbed ourselves through making the software happy.
Now we need to really get the data described and ready for real integration into DODS, 'cept I've never done metadata. Very few here have completed any rigorous metadata formulation either.
Where should I start? Go ahead and fire up some DDS/DAS files and foggettaboudit? Prolly not, so we wanna do the data FGDC style? Where would I begin that process?
BTW, we're starting with buoy/mooring time-series data only.
gracias,
RC |

| David White worked on a web based form to create FGDC records which includes a templating system(so you can rinse and repeat with a few changed fields). The site is at http://www.cast-net.org After registering as a user, you fill out the FGDC fields and submit your form and Cast-Net forwards your FGDC record to an iSite node which is a FGDC record clearinghouse with visibility from FGDC search engines ( http://clearinghouse.csc.noaa.gov/NOAA_CSCgateway.html ). |
