Just a note that I've been working with LAS 5.2 lately(personal version preference for now) and I recently also installed JRE 1.4.1_02.

When I ran either a Netscape 7.1 or IE 6.0 browser against LAS the map applet was erroring out - the browser complaining about the jvm.dll. So I searched my drive and there were 2 versions in separate folders, one from my earlier JRE 1.3.1 install and one from my more recent JRE 1.4.1 install. I deleted the JRE 1.3.1 folders since I don't have any projects in them and made sure the only references to the jvm.dll were in the JRE 1.4.1 version. I restarted my machine to clear out anything which might be in memory and afterwards, both browsers worked fine.
