Mapserver GIS product for visualization of in-situ, remote sensing and modeling data layers

Here's the link to the second part of my powerpoint presentation where I was talking some about the IOOS interoperability project and some of the technical backend notes on the Seacoos product.

We are currently collecting and displaying HF radar off the coast of North Carolina, Miami and Alaska. Model particle trajectories are also a data layer as well.

netCDF convention

This document includes netCDF examples of 6 general categories which we are trying to capture in the convention(fixed-point, fixed-profiler, fixed-map, moving-point-2D, moving-point-3D, moving-profiler).

And here are the perl scripts which leverage the perl netCDF packages for interfacing with netCDF files as well as 'udunits' a library for time and units conversion of netCDF attributes to create SQL INSERT statements.

The code at the below link is designed to be used stand-alone and/or as a web service to help tranform the DODS client http ascii output(the 'Get ASCII' button) to something more column oriented (CSV Comma Separated Value). This can help the data be more easily viewed and understood as well as fed into other analysis tools, web services and databases. General and technical description available.
